Artist Detailed Info: Chris Tuff

Born to a musical family, Chris Tuff grew up, besides of different countries, in Germany, where, at a very young age, was inspired by listening to records from Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Classical music, but most of all he discovered the world of sound and music by exploring and learning to play different musical instruments by himself, which were around in the house.
He composed his first song on the piano at the age of seven and started taking classical guitar lessons for a few years when he was nine.

Besides listening to contemporary pop/rockmusic he also sang in different choirs and on stage for the first time, as a soloist, at about twelve!

This was the time, when he first recognized/heard R and B, Soul, Funk,... musicians like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gay, Earth, Wind and Fire, Rick James, George Benson etc. and recognized a deep relationship to this sound and these musicians.

As a multi-instrumentalist, guitar as his main instrument, he made different exeriences making music with others before he decided ,at around 20, to move to Munich, Germany, where he lived for a couple of years doing all kinds of jobs, but also playing in different bands and was known in various jam sessions.

In 1999 he decided to explore the world, trying to get answers to the questions he had ("and found! ;O)" C.T. ).

This was the time he started writing music and lyrics intensively.

Armed with his guitar he travelled through the US and different European countries for about ten years (including a few longer stops).

During this time he made a lot of experiences making music with originals in diverse countries, like learning a bit of Flamenco from a Spanish Flamenco guitarist and a vegetable dealer ("and a good guitar-player, too ;o)" C.T.) in Spain, how to play Ukulele on Hawaii, with a sharman didgeridoo-player,...etc.

The intention to discover and understand sound and music in general was and is always a very important thing to him, like the sounds of animals, nature in general, human laughter,.... with the aim to write and to perform as authentic, true and honest music as possible; in a serious way,but also having fun doing it.
