Artist Detailed Info: Chimpunx

The Chimpunx was started in the summer of '98. It was formed as a group effort from the remaining members of Head Kandy and The Small Time Mobsters. The band was originally created as a joke, but later it was discovered that they were good, damn good. The Chimpunx began playing gigs at a local coffee house. They later moved up in the "music world" by playing shows and small gigs downtown. In October of '99, the 513 club asked them to be on a compilation CD with many other acts. For the CD, the Chimpunx commercially recorded their hit song, "Ice Cream Man," for public release. In December of '99, the band first hit the airwaves during the 'Locals Only" broadcast on 99X. You can now see the Chimpunx playing with such bands as Useless I.D and the Teen Idols.
