Cheryl (born Cheryl Ann Tweedy on 30 June 1983 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England), formerly known professionally as Cheryl Cole, is an English singer, songwriter, television personality, dancer and model. She first rose to prominence in 2002 after winning ITV's Popstars: The Rivals as a member of Girls Aloud, one of the most successful British girl groups of the 21st century. Released on 26 October 2009, 3 Words marked Cheryl's debut as a solo artist. Smith, Wayne Wilkins, Taio Cruz, Soulshock & Karlin and Syience. The project debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and was certified triple Platinum by the BPI.

The album produced three successful singles. Lead single Fight for This Love debuted at number one in the UK and Ireland, later reaching number one in Denmark, Norway and Hungary while becoming one of the UK's best-selling singles of 2009. The title track, 3 Words, featuring will.i.am, reached the UK Top 5 and became a Platinum-certified hit in Australia. Third single Parachute also reached the UK Top 5 and earned a Silver certification. During the album's promotion, Cheryl served as the opening act for The Black Eyed Peas' British and European dates of The E.N.D. World Tour.

Messy Little Raindrops (2010)

Cheryl's second studio album, Messy Little Raindrops, was released on 1 November 2010. Expanding upon the pop and R&B influences of its predecessor, the album featured production from Wayne Wilkins, will.i.am, J.R. Rotem, Starsmith, Al Shux and Free School, alongside guest appearances from Dizzee Rascal, Travie McCoy, August Rigo and will.i.am.

The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, giving Cheryl her second consecutive chart-topping album. Lead single Promise This entered the UK Singles Chart at number one, becoming her second UK chart-topper. A Million Lights (2012)

Released in June 2012, A Million Lights represented a more electronic and club-oriented direction, incorporating dance-pop, electropop, EDM and R&B. Cheryl collaborated with producers including Calvin Harris, Alex da Kid, Jim Beanz and will.i.am.

The album debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart. Lead single Call My Name, produced by Calvin Harris, became Cheryl's third UK number-one single and one of the biggest hits of her career. Additional singles included Under the Sun, Screw You and Ghetto Baby, the latter written by Lana Del Rey.

Only Human (2014)

Cheryl released her fourth studio album, Only Human, on 7 November 2014. The album embraced contemporary pop, dance-pop, R&B and electronic influences while exploring a more mature lyrical direction.

The project debuted within the UK Top 10 and produced two consecutive number-one singles. Crazy Stupid Love, featuring Tinie Tempah, became Cheryl's fourth UK number-one single, while I Don't Care debuted at number one later that year, making her the first British female solo artist to achieve five UK number-one singles.
