Artist Detailed Info: Big Chunk

Circa 2005 Jessie Kincaid and Lucas Ruble played in what was then known as "As Is" with Matt Brenier on drums.

During this period, Eddie McNally and Tim Filer were in the band Overbearing Conceit with Tim doing vocals and Eddie playing guitar, featuring drummer Abel Garcia and Bassist Steve Youmen.

Near the end of 2006, beginning of 2007, Lucas asked Eddie to take over the drums in As Is for Matt. At the same time Tim had been showing up to practice, and since Jessie had a sporadic work schedule, Tim was asked to fill in on bass.

During Jessie's absence the band had written several new song, and when Jessie returned, both Tim and Jessie remained as Bassists. At this time, the name Big Chunk was adopted.

Over the next 2 years, Tim, Eddie, Jessie and Lucas wrote several songs including “Run of the Mill”, “Intestinal Warfare”, “Skypill”, “Specticulacide”, “Songwich”, “Call of the Cave Yeti”, “Kinquado the Decimator”, and numerous others.

Big Chunk mostly played within SW Washington, including Frosty’s Bar, The Hub Bar & Grill, The Midnight Sun, The Matrix, The Tower Tavern, The Hub City Club, The Fox Theater, Maximillions and numerous house parties.

Eddie ended up moving to Portland OR, and practices became infrequent. Eddie eventually left the band.

The first person to audition for the drums was Mike Vance, and they didn’t bother auditioning anyone else. Within a few months, mike has learned several older Big Chunk songs, and began helping work on the new songs including “Lahar”, “Circa Zero” and “Bellowing Sun”.

Since Mike has joined Big Chunk has played shows at Studio 7 and Hell’s Kitchen.

At this time Big Chunk is recording their first full length album.
