A charming mix of post-pop, rock, funk and soul with progressive elements, Aerobi are in their element making music you can dance to, or think about (but not necessarily at the same time). Through intelligent song-writing, careful arrangement and spontaneous improvisation, Aerobi achieve that careful balance between something that matters and something that could just as easily be the soundtrack to you making a great toasted sandwich. With the release of their debut EP, ‘Six Little Blessings’, Aerobi present a culmination of their musical efforts thus far, whilst capturing the intensity of their live performances.
Formed in a high school in Sydney’s north, but quickly moving beyond the world of rigged band comps and crappy under-aged, unpaid gigs in dodgy clubs, Aerobi have matured into an experienced live band that has won fans across all age ranges and musical prejudices. Drawing on a bizarre range of influences from Stevie Wonder and The Who to Silverchair and Muse, Aerobi strive to think outside the proverbial square and occasionally surprise themselves.
The now longstanding line-up includes Dominic Warland on drums and assorted puns, Tim Yeo on Bass (recently rewarded with the addition of a fifth string), Tim Bennett on Guitar (just one at a time) and Michael Howell on Keyboards (often upstaging Tim by playing two or more at once). All four members sing and/or interject at inappropriate times, culminating in the magical Rubik’s cube of sound which is Aerobi.
"I love the EP – the songs are great." - Lindy Morrison - The Go-Betweens
“It is not everyday that you stumble across a band that produce music which is truly unique and enjoyable. A genuinely refreshing listen...the music speaks for itself.” – UK Ultimate Reviewer
