Action Action

Action Action is an indie rock band from Long Island, New York who combine a new wave aesthetic with a swirling guitar-driven sound reminiscent of The Bolshoi, Bauhaus, and other proto-goth bands prominent in the late 1970s and early '80s.

The lineup consists of:

Mark Thomas Kluepfel (singer/songwriting)
Adam Manning (guitar)
Clarke Foley (bass)
Dan Leo (drums)

In the studio while recording their debut, Don't Cut Your Fabric to This Year's Fashion, they employed synths to flesh out their sound and help set themselves apart from the typical rock-based indie act who normally do not experiment beyond basic rock instrumentation.

The band has finished recording their second album, which was released on January 24, 2006. The album makes more use of synthesizers and string sections.

Some time after releasing An Army of Shapes Between Wars, the band left their label that they had been working with for their first two albums, Victory Records. It's unsure exactly when this took place, but in an Interview with Burning Stars, The band's lead singer, Mark Thomas Kluepfel stated that they had left Victory Records and are actively looking for a new one. Despite that, thei next album was independently released.

Their song "A Dream Within A Dream" was featured in a 2009 Gillette commercial. The song was included on their self-released 2010 album The Ones Who Get It Are The Ones Who Need Not To Know. In that same year, the band broke up. It's unsure as of why this happened but some have speculated it was because they hadn't found a new record label.
