Montreal's 1 Hip Hop Band !!!
Known for their vibrant and amazing stage presence, 4DZ Societiez blows the crowds away, gets them on their feet and – makes them think!

The unsigned band boasts an MC, a singer/guitar player, a drummer, a keyboardist, a trumpet player, and a DJ. Influenced by a combination of cultures, 4DZ fearlessly blends genres and rhythms to bring a refreshingly new sound to hip hop. Their eclectic style is buoyed by a musical quality that ventures off the beaten track, with “live” instrumentation, a well-packaged production, and conscious lyrics.

Last year, 4DZ distinguished itself giving a wild performance as “discovery of the year” at the 2008 Sounds of Blackness Awards held at Théâtre Outremont on March 2nd. Since then, the band has had the privilege to perform in front of 10 000 people on the opening night of the world renowned Montreal Jazz Festival. In May, 4DZ was also the first band to perform in an Apple Store in Canada.

Recently, the band signed an agreement with The Orchard, one of the most important online music distributors. Their independently-produced EP entitled At Last has been available as of March 12th 2008 in digital music stores worlwide. (Itunes Canada, Itunes USA, Napster, Emusic, etc.).

Although 4DZ has only recently gained widespread visibility, the band has been evolving in the underground scene and accumulating honours for several years. In 2004 and 2005, the band won subsequently the two biggest urban music contests in Quebec (Hip Hop 4ever and Urban Synergy). That same year, Serial Killer, the group’s first single garnered incredible response on the internet and was downloaded over 80 000 times. These honours led the band to perform as opening act for international artists such as Ludacris, Talib Qweli and French rap group Saian Supa Crew.

The collective is presently working on their first full-length album and negotiating with labels to release the album this year. Further details will be announced shortly.
