Artist Info: Walter Strerath

Walter Strerath (* 18 September 1942 in Odenkirchen; † 23 September 1981 in Mönchengladbach) was a German jazz pianist.
Strerath played at local events with his trio from 1960; he toured nationally from 1963. In the Netherlands, he also performed with Jack van Poll, Ruud Pronk and René Thomas. The performance at the second Hammerfeld Jazz Festival in Roermond was partly documented by ZDF. Parts of a performance in Iserlohn were broadcast by WDR. [read more...]
