Matt "Variex" Ghiglieri is an Oakland, California based music producer, rapper, and audio engineer. Born in 1987, the San Francisco native began writing songs in 1995 and producing in 1998, influenced by the funky basslines and smooth synth leads of west coast hip-hop. After learning to record on a four-track cassette, Variex released his first full-length album in 2001, sparking his evolution into experimental hip-hop and poetry.
