
Sabu Orimo (織茂サブ) is a shakuhachi player in his twenties.
His output so far concists of two limited CD-r releases, "Ichi-On" and "Susabu", on the label Subjective Spirit Sound in 2006, and 3 self-released cassettes in 2007.
He has studied shakuhachi with Atsuya Okuda and only plays ji-nashi "hocchiku" flutes, which are large, natural bamboo flutes with no lacquer or special treatment to affect the sound.
He also plays in the Ra-Orchestra (The Flame, CD-r, 2008, self released), along with his parents Shizuko and Toshio Orimo. [read more...]
