Mari Elliott (or Marianne Elliott) was a 19 year old singer who released one pop/reggae single in the UK in 1976 - 'Silly Billy' b/w 'What A Way' - shortly before the punk explosion in London in 1976. Mari Elliott changed her name to Poly Styrene and invented X-Ray Spex and the rest is history...
