
Southern Illinois-based multimedia artist Magilla Shuwall has a body of work that spans his unique brand of pop-format songs, improvisations in music and film, and poetry. His primary instrument is bass guitar.
His 2007 release “Disparate American Vignettes” is a collection of twelve compositions realized on sequencer, hearkening to the late Synclavier music of Zappa. 2007 also saw the release of “First Set (House One),” an album of Captain Beefheart-like spoken word works, accompanied by digital collage background.
