Artist Info: Jacques Dupuis

An amateur guitarist and singer during his studies, Jacques Dupuis discovered traditional music in 1976 and began learning the violin. He continued his studies in music (violin and piano) at Cégep d'Alma and Arts and Folklife at Laval University . Since the mid-1980s, he has performed and demonstrated traditional music, both as a solo perfomer on the streets of Old Quebec City, as well as with various bands (Les broches à foin from 1983 to 1986 and les Turlurons from 1986 to 1988).
