Artist Info: Ian Sklar

Raised by a working class family in the port city of Elizabeth, NJ (the American version of liverpool:), Ian had varied musical influences. These included hit rock and roll singles from the 50's and 60's, Show tunes, disco 8-track tapes and -of course- The Beatles. Also, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon. Even the exotic sound of Don Ho was heard coming from the garden apartment where Ian lived.

That potpourri of musical influences has created a style that can be described as melodic, dynamically rhythmic and lyrical. [read more...]
