
Hermes Nye (February 11, 1908 – January 1, 1981) was an American folksinger and attorney. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Nye later settled in Dallas, Texas, where he became known for his involvement in American folk music as well as his work as a practicing attorney. In addition to his legal career, Nye was a folksinger, folklorist, novelist, and local activist.
