Artist Info: Gary Zekley

Prominent sunshine-pop, surf-rock and bubblegum producer & songwriter active in the mid-'60s and early '70s. Among his writing credits, Zekley penned and produced the hit singles "Yellow Balloon" by The Yellow Balloon, "Grooviest Girl In The World" by The Fun and Games and "Sooner or Later" by The Grass Roots.

The Zekley-written song "Superman", originally performed by The Clique in 1969, would go on to be an alternative hit for R.E.M. nearly two decades later. [read more...]
