Dirk Powell is an American fiddler and banjo player and considered one of the world's leading experts on traditional Appalachian fiddle and banjo styles. He has won four Grammy Awards and has recorded with a variety of artists including Rhiannon Giddens, Loretta Lynn, Irma Thomas, Tim O'Brien, Kyle Carey and Eric Clapton.
