Davin McCoy was born in Albany, GA and was raised in separate households. In these separate households is where he found his musical influences. His mother introduced him to the music of Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Al Green, and Van Morrison while his father gave him James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Dylan, and Leonard Cohen.
