Artist Info: Bob Davenport

Bob Davenport (born Robert H. Davenport in Gateshead on 31 May 1932) is an English traditional folk singer who has been a leading and influential voice in the British folk revival since the early 1960s. In the 1970s he recorded two albums with The Rakes as Bob Davenport & The Rakes.

Davenport has lived in Camden, London, for most of his life. His quiet speaking voice belies his big-voiced singing style, which can be melodic or a cross between shouting and singing. [read more...]
