Artist Info: Askefroa

Christoffer Modig is the composer and sole member behind Askefroa. Through the project, he explores anxiety, grief, existence, and death, drawing directly from his inner life when composing the music.

Askefroa’s sound can be described through the image of a tree: its roots in death metal, the trunk shaped by black metal, and its branches and leaves reaching into post-rock and shoegaze. The lyrics are sung in a southern Swedish, East-Scanian accent [read more...]
