An almost completely crowd-sourced song, Lifeline is the first single from Imogen Heap's upcoming album, to be released in three years. Heap reached out to her fan base through e-mails, tweets, and a custom website to incorporate sound snippets, solos, words, photos, and videos to create the song. Live video blogs were broadcast everyday from March 14, 2011 to the release date, March 28, 2011 (however, the song was delayed a day and released on March 29 to iTunes, followed by a full release on March 30).
